My experiments with the phone

Like Gandhiji experimented with the truth, I, divinediu will experiment with the phone.

I have two cell phones and three sim cards. I have sent upto 300 text messages a day. Not forwards. But text messages. I usually carry both my phones everywhere. I am simply unable to switch off my phone for no reason. My phone is an extension of my arm and low battery or weak signals alter my mood quite negatively.

I will not use a phone for a month. (Except on weekends when I'm home.) The sms rani is phoneless now.
I expect to experience withdrawal symptoms, mood swings and a lot more free time and sleep time. In my free time, I will read, exercise, meet up with people, introspect, pray, paint, sing, dance, show love and write.

I can be happy without a phone, can't  I?

(I got this photo from here)

I am pretty sure I'm going to miss getting good morning and good night texts the most.

CR elections :)

Well this was something really interesting which happened, I'll try to make it as concise as I can. :)

First of all, I really can't understand why people volunteer to be Class Representatives!! All they end up doing is collecting assignments no one has finished yet and accounting for cash which half of the class forgets to bring even ten days after the due date!!

Anyway............Six people volunteered. We made them campaign.

"I will raise the standard of this class if you vote for me"

In other words- "You lowly idiots, I am being kind enough to lead you for this year. Be grateful that big ol' superior me is willing to serve you measly creatures! " - Konkani guy. All burst out laughing!!!:P

The Konkani guy won.
He had a huge backup!!
I did not vote for him, though I am one myself. Why?
1. He never asked me to.
2. Another guy would give me a treat if I voted for him.

Yeah. This stuff is totally selfish.
People wanna win for the popularity.
People wanna vote for the treat!

Now I'm getting a treat each-from the guy who got elected Class Rep and the other guy who promised me a treat.

I managed to kill two birds with a stone. I'm getting treats for people getting screwed.
What a world!

Definite Maybe

I love English from as long as I can remember.. I found the lessons really interesting in school.. I have a fascination for the language. I still have all my English textbooks from high school and I read them often (even the enormous amount of notes and references in the most minuscule scrawl possible- i had SO much to cram in!)
That's a post it note! It's not top secret but I doubt if anyone other than me can read that!
PS: there is stuff written on the other side as well :)

My english textbook :)

Shakespeare, Lord Byron, the whole lot.. Reading up about their lives, what they were going though in life which made them write what they wrote... All that just excited and interested me! (Still does.)

Well, that is why I am really glad I studied in CBSE for a while. I got to like the subject, my teachers taught us pretty well, too (-that makes a difference, believe me!)

Then I switched to state board. The standard of English was SO LOW! I was so disappointed! It was really kid stuff! But somehow I tried to look at the positive side and make the best of whatever I had.. In the first exam, I tried. I really did. I answered my paper well. Gave it my best shot. My marks were sad. Well they were okay, but the people who mugged the lessons got better marks- which was when I lost interest. I too started doing that for the forthcoming exams. Read the textbook once and answer the paper in EXACT stuff (word vomit, if u ask me! ).. There were no group discussions, no speeches, no book reviews, nothing!! :(

I think this was why I stopped reading novels as well. I still like English though. And I want to improve on my grammar, vocabulary, everything!

I have no one to blame but me, though. It is my life..

So from today, i am going to make an effort. A genuine effort.
